ADVERTISING PROMOTION 16 Indigenous Jobs Australia In March 2012 Jobs Australia Ltd and its Indigenous Training Network held the second annual Indigenous Forces at Work conference in Alice Springs. The conference featured a number of prominent keynote speakers and experts with a focus on Indigenous excellence. Delegates shared successful strategies and approaches for getting Indigenous people into sustainable employment. Speakers considered the place and possibilities for social enterprise as another approach to getting more Indigenous Australians into work. Delegates to the 2012 conference told us that the storytellers illustrated the impact of training and employment programs on real people and encouraged many of them to rethink the way they ran these programs. On the following pages we tell the stories of eight of the storytellers. Storytellers provide real-life inspiration Happy endings: some of the storytellers at the conference Don't take our word for it!
